PSA Membership

Speakers who take their profession seriously join their professional association. Professional Speakers Australia is dedicated to supporting professional speakers in the development of their speaking craft and business. And if you are an aspiring or current professional speaker we would love you to join us.

You can join PSA in two ways, as an Associate Member or as a Professional Member. Joining as a Professional Member entitles you to access additional member benefits. Associate Members are non-voting members of PSA.

Associate Membership

Associate membership is ideal for the aspiring or emerging speaker. Associate Membership is a non-voting class of PSA membership. To join you must:

  • commit to PSA’s Code of Professional Conduct;

Professional Membership

PSA Professional  Membership is limited to experienced professional speakers, committed to both professional and industry development. To qualify you must:

  • demonstrate a verified income of $50,000 in the past 12 months in speaking-related revenue
  • commit to PSA’s Code of Professional Conduct; and
  • provide a live and unedited recording of a presentation given by you in front of an audience (face to face or virtual) of 5 minutes duration – this will be assessed for competence in your ability to engage an audience, the clarity of your message, and the quality of your presentation (eg voice, storytelling, body language).

Accreditation

Certified Speaking Professional

The Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) accreditation is an international designation that recognises the experience and professional capability of Australia’s leading speakers.

CSP Accredited members have a proven track record of capturing the audience and consistently delivering value from the platform. They have achieved a high level of experience and success in their business and are positioned as leaders in the industry.

The accreditation program is an essential element in continuing to improve and advance the speaking profession and industry nationally.

CSP Sage

Long-standing CSPs are welcome to apply for CSP Sage where they wish to remain a valued community member of PSA and yet they have ceased to actively market themselves as a speaker.  PSA requires the criteria as defined in the Application and Statutory Declaration to be met, importantly recognising CSP Sage provides an opportunity for our association to value and retain the input, expertise and wisdom of individual CSPs.

Life Membership

Life Member status is bestowed upon PSA members who have figuratively given their life to PSA over an extended period of time in a range of selfless ways, often involving personal sacrifice. Their service to PSA has been above and beyond the call of duty, benefited the membership nationally and contributed to the foundation and the evolution of the profession. It is awarded when someone stands out on an exceptional basis for recognition of this type. It is only awarded on an irregular basis when it occurs to a Member that it is deserved.
